Welcome to Bray Junior Hockey

Our mission is to provide a safe environment for young players of all abilities to play, develop, compete and enjoy the sport of hockey, for as long as possible.

 

Membership 2024/25 Season

The 2023/24 season has finished for our girls and boys groups as of end of March 2024.

Memberships for the Junior Girls 2024/25 season will be offered to exisiting members in due course (usually by end of May) via ClubZap. If your  daughter is not a current member and you wish for her to be added to the waitlist please forward her full name, date of birth, class as of September 2024 and school name to Michelle (girls) at juniors@brayhockeyclub.ie.

Please note that until the first round of existing members renewals are completed we have no estimate on whether there are any available places in any given group for September 2024.


Membership for the Junior Boys section is open and we welcome all boys aged 5-16 years. Please send all inquires for the boys section for the attention of John to boys@brayhockeyclub.ie

 

Clubzap 

We use the Clubzap mobile app for all club and individual team communications, registration and club events.

Please search for Clubzap on the Apple App Store or Google Play. Once you have installed the app, please register yourself, as a parent, with your own date of birth (DO NOT ENTER YOUR CHILDS DOB OR NAME).You can then add your child to your profile in the relevant chat group for the agegroup in question.

All training and match communications will be sent through Clubzap so it is mandatory that you use  it.

Junior players are grouped according to their class groups rather than their age.

This is in line with the LHA structures.

We are always looking for parents or guardians to help out and get involved with coaching or side line assistance.

**Below are the standard training times from September onwards. Pre-season training times may vary and coaching teams will advise the times in the relevant Clubzap chat group. 

Friday Nights Loreto Bray:

U16 Girls (Inter) - 19:00 - 20:30 (session 1) &  20:15 - 21:45 (session 2) 

2nd Year Girls (Minors) - 18:00-19:00   

Friday Nights Templecarrig:

U16 & U14 Boys - 19:30 - 21:00

Sunday Templecarrig:

12:00 - 13:00 U8's Girls  (Junior Infants - 2nd Class)  
13:15 - 14.15 3rd & 4th Class Girls
14:30 - 15.30 5th Class Girls
15:45 - 17:00 6th Class Girls

Sunday Loreto Bray:

10:45 - 12:00 1st Year Girls
12:15 - 13.15 2nd Year Girls (Minors)
13:30 - 14.45 U12, U10 & U8 Boys

Tuesday Temple Carrig:

U18 Girls - 7-8pm

GK training - Friday 19:00 - 20:00 in Loreto Bray (adhoc dates - coaches will advise)

Please ensure you arrive at least 10 minutes before the training begins. 

Please ensure your child has a mouth guard, shin pads and stick for every training session and match

Please note training slots may change, match fixtures will be at different times and different venues so it is your responsibility to check where you should be on a weekly basis by checking and responding to the notifications in your relevant Clubzap group.


Please also note that if you get a fixture (match) notification (not training) and you do not respond we presume your child is not attending and they may not be allocated to the squad to play = so please do not just turn up and expect them to get match time.

Hockey Ireland Membership Registration/ Renewal and ME number

Further to the directive from our National Governing Body Hockey Ireland, ALL players – senior and junior -  must have a Hockey Ireland membership number and hold a paid HI membership.  Participation in hockey activities in Ireland is prohibited without these.  

Please use to Leinster Hockey Leagues - GameDay Registration (mygameday.app) to pay your / your child’s Hockey Ireland membership.

Please complete all information to include uploading any coaching, umpiring and other relevant certificates, adding a photo (Senior members only), Emergency Contact details, etc. 

When registering your child with Bray Hockey Club please enter the Hockey Ireland ID in their profile.

Code of Conduct

Please ensure your child reads (or is read to) and understands the Bray Hockey Club Code of Conduct.

Junior Registration

Any member (regardless of age) who is currently in school pays the junior rate.

Under 18 membership applications must be completed by a parent/guardian and must include the relevant waivers. 

Parents/Guardians are reminded of Hockey Ireland's child welfare policies including guidelines on overplay.

Junior fees must be paid in full by the 1st September (unless payment is made by recurring payment).

According to the rules of the Leinster Hockey Association players must be 15 years old or more to play competitive senior Hockey.

Failure to adhere to your agreed subscription payment schedule may affect your ability to participate in club activities, including but not limited to training and games. 

By becoming a member of Bray Hockey Club, you agree to adhere to Bray Hockey Club's Code of Conduct, Child Protection Policies and the IHA's Code of ethics & other relevant policies.

Please understand that we are a voluntary administration team and membership fees are non-refundable.
